SnowMatch
Find, compare and book certified ski and snowboard instructors, with the tools ski schools need behind it.
- React
- Java
- PostgreSQL
- Expo

01 · Problem
In the Andes, booking a private ski lesson used to mean WhatsApp and word of mouth. Instructors did not know what to charge, and schools had little software for lessons, rentals and passes. SnowMatch sets out to professionalise, digitise and organise the relationship between instructors and their clients.
02 · Approach
Three codebases. A React web app holds the public site, admin and resort pages. A Java API built on Spring Security, Jersey and Hibernate runs on PostgreSQL, with Pusher for realtime. An Expo app gives teachers a calendar, bookings and invoices. I added teacher day-availability across the API and app, plus admin endpoints to list teachers available by day and to reassign multi-day bookings. Teachers can now see payout receipts and notes and get a suggested payout when uploading an invoice. Admin edits now keep booking dates in sync, there is an optional booking-intent broadcast that teachers can claim, and I put the El Colorado 2027 partnership deck on the site as a public route.
03 · Outcome
Live on snowmatch.pro, the App Store and Google Play, covering Cerro Catedral, Chapelco, Cerro Bayo and more. The public site lists 1,000+ certified instructors and 20+ centres. The app adds AI video correction from "Snow", an avatar instructor, and on-demand expert reviews.
